Conserving resources, efficiency, safety – these are the key topics that Schütz will be focusing on at this year’s Scanpack. Under the motto "Expect more", the company will be presenting groundbreaking new products for the packaging industry in Gothenburg, Sweden, from 4 to 7 October 2022. At stand C02:44, among other products, Schütz is showcasing its ecological Green Layer product series. The packaging specialist will also be presenting the Ecobulk SX-D, the first combination IBC with FM Global approval, and the Ecobulk MX 560, a multi-talent for smaller filling volumes.

The Ecobulk MX 560 features a particularly compact shape that allows optimum utilisation of the available storage and transport space. The IBC has a nominal volume of 560 litres and was developed on the basis of the globally successful 1,200 x 1,000 mm pallet; it is fully compatible with all other IBCs in the MX line by Schütz and is therefore also the ideal solution for mixed loads. The IBC provides flexible handling and is optimally suited for smaller filling quantities. If required, the Ecobulk MX 560 can also be equipped with an EVOH permeation barrier, which protects the filling product from changes and the environment from pollution.

Safe packaging for hazardous goods

Another highlight that Schütz will be presenting is the Ecobulk SX-D, an IBC designed for the safe packaging of flammable or highly flammable liquids. The IBC has received the quality seal of the FM Global Group, underscoring its performance as safe packaging for sensitive goods. With its closed, fire-resistant hull in addition to the classic steel grid, the Ecobulk SX-D meets the highest safety standards. This hull is welded to the integrated bottom plate, forming a separate sealed containment basin around the inner bottle of the container. The double-wall construction provides effective additional protection against leakage and stops sensitive liquids from escaping, even in extreme situations, for example in the event of a fire.

Conserving resources with the Green Layer range

In addition, Schütz will be showcasing the IBCs and drums in the Green Layer series. These products help the packaging expert’s customers to minimise their CO2 footprint and thus make an important contribution to achieving global and corporate climate targets. In the series, Schütz employs state-of-the-art 3- or 6-layer extrusion blow moulding lines and uses 30% high-quality, natural-coloured recycled material to make the IBC inner bottles and drum bodies. The recyclate is exclusively used for the middle layer so that the filling product and the surroundings of the packaging only come into direct contact with virgin material.

Further information on Schütz’s new products will be available from 4 – 7 October at Stand C02:44 at the Scanpack trade fair in Gothenburg, Sweden. All products will be exhibited and demonstrated at the stand.
