The German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG)

The Supply Chain Due Diligence Act, or LkSG for short, regulates corporate responsibility for the observance of human rights in global supply chains. The Act strengthens human rights and environmental protection in global supply chains. It requires companies in Germany to respect human rights by implementing defined due diligence obligations. These obligations apply to their own business activities, to the actions of contractual partners and to the actions of other (indirect) suppliers. This means that companies’ responsibility no longer ends at their own factory gates, but extends along the entire supply chain. Under the LkSG, companies are required, among other things, to set up a complaints channel (reporting office) for submitting reports of violations of rules or laws. SCHÜTZ has set up a reporting system for this purpose as part of its existing compliance management system in the form of a web-based software solution (Formalize).

The reporting system enables people in the supply chains to submit relevant reports in both written and spoken form (https://whistleblowersoftware.com/secure/schuetz-lksg).

Important:

Anyone who submits a report is protected from reprisals. All reported information and personal data are subject to special confidentiality and high data protection standards and requirements. In the event of a false report, the reporting person may be liable to prosecution and obliged to compensate for any damage resulting from an intentional or grossly negligent report or the disclosure of false information.
