PACKAGING SYSTEMS
SCHÜTZ officially begins with the construction of a state-of-the-art production facility and logistics centre for Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBC) at BASF’s plant in Ludwigshafen. The traditional groundbreaking ceremony on 14 September 2026 marked the start of this project, with an investment of approximately 40 million euros. The project strengthens local, strategic security of supply, whilst promoting energy efficiency and an active circular economy, and sustainably reduces CO₂ emissions by significantly cutting down the number of truck transports. The commissioning is planned for summer 2027.
