Schütz at Interpack 2026: Efficiency, technological excellence and circularity as guiding principles

With CircularOne, Schütz combines return, reconditioning, recycling, and the supply of industrial packaging into a single integrated system. The established Schütz Ticket Service is an easy way to join this global material cycle.
Under the motto "Circular Economy meets Technology", at Interpack 2026 Schütz will be demonstrating how the combination of technological expertise and consistent circularity enhances efficiency throughout the entire life cycle of industrial packaging. The company will present new product developments and service solutions that embody the key principles of the trade fair theme. With its new comprehensive CircularOne service, Schütz is bringing together its global return, reconditioning and supply solutions. In addition, numerous new products from the IBC, plastic and steel drum, and jerrycan sectors will be presented.

The demands placed on industrial packaging are constantly rising. There is an increasing focus on resource efficiency, safety, sustainability and globally uniform quality standards, while at the same time users have higher expectations for process reliability and efficiency. These developments affect every stage of the packaging cycle, from design and manufacturing through to return and recycling.

At Interpack, Schütz will be demonstrating how technological expertise and the circular economy work together within an integrated system. This is underpinned by a production system with a high degree of vertical integration, bringing together tools, machinery, extrusion blow moulding technology, reconditioning and recycling processes under one roof. The Schütz network's globally uniform standards ensure consistently high quality and a reliable supply, regardless of where the products are manufactured.

A single source for all packaging needs
With CircularOne, Schütz combines return, reconditioning, recycling and the supply of industrial packaging into a single integrated system. The established Schütz Ticket Service provides a simple entry point into this global material cycle. The tried-and-tested collection system is being gradually extended to include plastic and steel drums as well as jerrycans. To achieve this aim, Schütz is continuously expanding its global network by integrating leading local reconditioners - initially across Europe, with other continents to follow. To optimally meet the diverse requirements within supply chains, the platform offers two clearly defined circular models. In the Open Loop, customers can flexibly return a mix of packaging types and, in return, receive a consistent, predictable supply of new, reconditioned or resource-efficient Green Layer packaging. The Closed Loop, on the other hand, is aimed at companies with large volumes of single-type packaging in circulation. Here, the customer's own packaging is processed locally to the highest standards and returned in an exact 1:1 ratio for reuse. All services can be booked with only a few clicks via the web portal www.schuetz-ticket-service.net on a location-specific basis. CircularOne helps to significantly reduce the burden on day-to-day operations, guarantees maximum supply and planning reliability, and provides targeted support to companies in meeting their sustainability targets.

Wide variety, small format: the SC2 range of jerrycans
Schütz is expanding its range of products for small volumes with a new series. The SC2 jerrycans stand out thanks to their optimum design, choice of different volumes, stackable shape and numerous customisation options. These include versions with Foodcert and Cleancert certification, as well as EVOH and SMP barrier solutions.

A key feature of the SC2 jerrycans is the 3- to 6-layer construction. The 3-layer version offers enhanced stability and better protection than 1- or 2-layer rival products. The 6-layer variant features an additional, integrated high-performance EVOH barrier. This effectively protects the contents from the permeation of gases and volatile substances, making the variant ideal for permeation-active contents. The high-performance barrier already meets the requirements of future PFAS regulations by completely avoiding the use of alkyl compounds. Together with the established SC1 series, Schütz offers a wide range of jerrycans for many different technical, hygienic and safety-related requirements.

The jerrycans in both series are also available in a Green Layer version made using high-quality Schütz regranulate in the middle of the three layers, with the inner and outer layer made from virgin HDPE. This range extension means that Green Layer technology with 30% recycled material is now available across all Schütz's core packaging sizes - from IBCs and plastic drums to jerrycans.

IBC with double-wall fire and leak protection
Schütz's Ecobulk SX-D is an IBC specially developed for flammable and sensitive contents. The design with a closed steel shell and an integrated HDPE inner bottle, provides double and therefore reliable protection against fire and leakage. The SX-D is the first combination IBC to be certified by FM Global ("FM Approved"). It also meets the requirements of UL Standard 2368 and is approved for Ex Zones 1 and 2. In the new SX-D-OV variant, which will be exhibited at Interpack 2026, an integrated outlet valve further enhances the technical advantages of the SX-D. By offering the option of discharging contents from the bottom of the container, Schütz has once again enhanced ease of use for packaging users.

Contamination-free homogenisation of viscous media in IBCs
To ensure optimal processing, viscous products in IBCs are often homogenised using agitators prior to processing. Schütz Impellers enable contamination-free agitation directly within the closed IBC. The two available versions, featuring a bucket or a blade agitator, are designed to accommodate different operating speeds. The blade agitator ensures uniform mixing and complete sediment dissolution even at low speeds. Both versions are made from recyclable plastic and are returned to the material cycle through the Schütz Ticket Service after use.

3-skid steel pallet goes into series production
Choosing the right transport pallet is crucial to ensure the safe transport of IBCs. With significantly wider side skids and an additional centre skid, Schütz's new 3-skid steel pallet offers a contact area that is approximately 900% larger than that of conventional steel-frame pallets. It is ideally suited to the requirements of modern logistics and production environments. At Interpack, Schütz is announcing the start of series production for this solution, which, thanks to its optimised force distribution, is particularly suitable for use in high-bay warehouses and on conveyor systems.

Twist-resistant corner feet for steel pallets
With twist-proof corner feet, Schütz has launched a new feature in its steel pallet portfolio. The new, form-fit locking mechanism between the base plate and the corner feet reduces the risk of deformation that occurs when forklift trucks collide with the pallet. The design further extends the service life of steel pallets and supports efficient, safe circular use. The new design will initially be used on the 3-skid steel pallet and will subsequently be rolled out across Schütz's entire steel pallet portfolio. The increased dimensional stability extends the service life of the pallets and supports efficient, safe circular use.

Steel drum solutions for challenging applications
Schütz offers specialized steel drum solutions for products with challenging requirements. The Laser Drum, made of steel sheet galvanized on both sides, provides high corrosion protection and is manufactured from exceptionally pure raw material. This eliminates the need for subsequent coating processes. The Combi Steel Drum combines an HDPE inner liner with a robust steel jacket and is suitable for highly permeable or aggressive media. The Combi-Laser drum combines both designs and offers comprehensive protection against permeation, corrosion, and leakage.

Schütz's Drumfix is a solution that secures four steel drums to a pallet for safe transport. This fully recyclable load-securing system is made of reinforced plastic and can be returned to the material cycle after use via the Schütz Ticket Service.

In addition to new products and special solutions, Schütz is also showcasing its long-standing, market-proven standard solutions for steel drums, PE drums, jerrycans and IBCs at Interpack 2026. These will be on display until the 13th of May at Stand D22 and E34 in Hall 10 at Messe Düsseldorf.
